Does every participant have to download the app or is one smartphone with the app per group enough?

Our experience shows that it is more favourable if there is more than just one smartphone with the app per group. It is not essential that every participant has downloaded the app on their smartphone, but the more participants can follow the scavenger hunt on their smartphone, the more fun it is for all participants.
